CURRENT FLAMENCO HAPPENINGS!

--Juan Talavera appeared at San Diego's famed Lyceum Theatre, with stellar Flamenco dancers Lakshmi Basile and Ricardo Chavez, in the Flamenco stage production of "Trois." This innovative Flamenco dance drama employing live and recorded music was choreographed by Lakshmi, Juan and Ricardo, and featured Flamenco guitarists Gabriel Osuna and Jose Tanaka, with the Flamenco singing of Vicente Griego. They sold out both performances, and received two standing ovations! There is talk of taking the production to Santa Barbara, and San Francisco! Ole!

--Palm Springs is becoming Flamenco Aware! Juan's company, FLAMENCO BRAVO! appeared at the posh El Dorado Country Club, and the Wynham Hotel for corporate event functions in March.

--Talavera and his company are now set to appear at the Joslyn Center Theatre, Palm Desert, Calif., Sept. 13 and 14, 2008. --Juan has just been "inked" to perform at the famed Cafe Sevilla in San Diego, April 11th and 18th. Be there! Show times are at 7:30 PM. He appears with FLAMENCO BRAVO! at the Topa Tower Club in Oxnard Calif. Friday, April 25th. The show will feature Flamenco dancers Lakshmi Basille and Timo Nunez doing their awesome dancing! This is the sixth time Talavera appears with FLAMENCO BRAVO! at the Topa!

--Talavera is also set to conduct two special, exciting Flamenco dance workshops at well known Flamenco Dancer Rocio Carrera's Paloma Aragon Dance Studio, in Downtown San Diego, April 11th and 18th from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. The students will work on a "hot" Tango Choreography Juan brought back from his last trip and studies in Sevilla.

--Juan and three of his advanced students are getting set to travel to Albuquerque, N.M. to partake in the annual Flamenco Festival at the University of New Mexico, featuring a busy schedule of performances and workshops. Some of Spain's top dancers are set to do workshop classes. Antonio Canales, Immaculada Ortega, Manuel Linan, Marcos Flores and Pastora Galvan are among the guest artists set to perform and workshop.

Advanced Beginning Flamenco Dance
6:30-8:00 PM, $15.00 per each class, payable 4 weeks in advance. If you take two different level classes, itīs $12.00 per class. Three or more brings it down to $10.00 per class!

Tuesdays

Beginning Flamenco Dance
7:00-8:30 PM, Same payment schedule as above.

Wednesdays

Improvisational Flamenco
This class is designed to teach the students how to improvise within a flamenco structure, and how to be comfortable in a "juerga" or party situation where you show off your flamenco command!

Now available at $50.00 per hour. $10.00 less if you are enrolled in two of Juan's GROUP classes! Semi-private classes are $35.00 per person (limit 3). Palmas, Palillos y Sevillanas, The Rhythms of Flamenco
This class is a Flamenco Rhythm class for the non-dancer and dancers with previous Flamenco dance experience who want to polish up their percussive hand clapping, castanet playing, while exploring the different rhythms of Flamenco. Class will be offered with live guitar accompaniment when available.

Intermediate Flamenco Dance
